Griselda Martinez Morales along with a team of Sisters proposed to form a group that create channels to enable the Latin American realities to be present at the United Nations. The core team for this group would consist of the following Congregations: Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd (RGS), Sisters of the Providence –UNANIMA; International Presentation Association (IPA); Congregations of Saint Joseph (CSSJ).
- They hope to create spaces of communication which could enable people in a practical and simple way to share experiences, wisdom and encourage an interchange of opinions related to the UN discussion papers.
- In order to achieve this goal they will utilize the resources to which they have access at the UN. Their main idea is to have a systematic, fluid and constant process of communication and formation which will permit them to interact with their contacts in many countries.
- The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Río +20), on June 2012 in Brazil will be the starting off point of this project.
The members of this Organization will be in the RUN network as well as other national and local groups. They believe that their language and culture favor this initiative. Therefore, in view of what has been expressed above they will continue to communicate in the following areas with members of RUN:
- Inform the members of RUN and other NGOs where they have a presence in several Latin American and Caribbean countries.
Make a list of contacts in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Begin a process of contacting Conferences of Religious, NGOs, various organization and other Latin American and Caribbean groups.
- Prepare a program specifically related to The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Río +20) and carry it out as soon as possible in the Latin American and the Caribbean countries.
